Hello, I am a retired Commercial Pilot.

I have built three homesteads in the last 39 years. Currently building a small Farmstead at the confluence of two very happy creeks, which gurgle 24/7/365. I live in a 11' X 23' cabin, with a newish deluxe outhouse, and haul all water 1/2 mile from the creek, up hill both ways.....:)

Hello, I live in the Abandoned (Gold mining) town of Sunrise, Alaska (about 9 humans, 1,400 bears). I am a retired Bush Pilot, (Professional Super Cub Driver) and retired, Registered Alaskan Big Game Hunting Guide (34 years practice).

I have built three homesteads in Alaska in the last 39 years. Currently building a small Farmstead at the confluence of two very happy creeks, which gurgle 24/7/365. Which is located within the Chugach National Forest. We (eight labradoodle puppies, one chocolate Lab, and one huge Standard Poodle) live semi-harmoniously in a 11' X 23' cabin, with a newish deluxe outhouse, and haul all our water 1/2 mile from the creek, up hill both ways.....:)

Thats impressive. I lived in Alaska back in 1983 for a year, but i didn't live in the bush, and i was told that it was a mild winter that year.

hmmm...just a hunch, but I think you will have a long wait ahead of you before finding a woman who'd want to live in your toilet facilities...

Lots of GOLD, almost everything is staked, and there are many small working mines.

G'day Hopeak,
How far are you from the nearest 'civilization'?
and How long are your winters?

Thanks for that.
Aye 'civilization' could well be debated. LOL.
Long winter.
Do they tend to be harsh? I guess what I mean by that is that back in Scotland we would have a similar winter but the majority of it tended to be wet, cold and miserable. When it did snow it was great. It warmed up and you could work in it easy enough.
The silence must be great. Room to think and appreciate your surroundings.
I'm envious.
