Through my random musings, I stumbled upon this guided backpacking trip near where I live:

Has anyone ever done one of these type of things? Are they generally a worth-while experience?

From the looks of it, it sounds like a great time. Of course, I tend to get a bit skeptical when tours ask for $700 to let you walk and sleep outside :), but it sounds like you get some pretty good instruction with the glacier climbs, something that I have never done before.

I ran this by my mom, who usually backpacks with me, and she's willing to do it. Just looking for any input that you guys may have.

Guided backpacking trips, from my experience, are just like like a guided museum tour. You go the same places as you would normally do alone, but you get more information (like history, pointing out the different sights, etc).

But if you don't know the place or don't know how to do the stuff (like climb or raft or w/e), it's a decent way to spend your cash.
