Tomorrow is the 9th "anniversary" of that day of the despicable cowardly attacks on the United States.

I saw an interesting statistic which related that the majority of our young men and women serving in combat today were very young at the time of the attacks and have only Vague memories of the events of that day.

I post this to remind all that it is important to remember and to make sure our kids understand what one of the reasons for the Global War on Terror is.

our children - those who aren't old enough, or where not yet born - will not understand.

for illustration; as a child, i was never able to understand why the seniors around me still took the pearl harbor attack so seriously, thinking at the time 'it was almost 50 years ago', 'it was part of a war - that's how things go', etc.

do not get me wrong, i understood intellectually why it was significant to them, and it's not that i didn't care, i just did not have the personal connection to it that is required to understand their experience. nine years ago tomorrow, i understood a lot better. the impact the attack and it's aftermath made on me will last a lifetime. if i make 80 years, it'll still be there. you just can't tell that to somebody.

Post 9-11, I was away from my family and the grand kids especially for almost 3 1/2 years. I use that as a learning tool to them, and show them pictures of friends and family that were lost then and subesquently

Yea,I think you should edit,we have a fair amount of muslims here in my area now,and they are not sitting on welfare, they seem to be hard working
one young lady works 3 different job that I know of.

Hate the sin,not the sinner, and they are not all sinners.

I was only 9 when it happened and I live in Australia but I remember getting up in the morning and turning the T.V on and watching the replays. I remember standing there and whispering over and over again “why”. Now I was thousands of miles away at the time and I remember how it felt for me and I can only imagine what it must have been like for all of you who were attacked.
