i was thumbing thru an old nat geographic from 1981, and there was an article on some homesteaders, and there was a picture of the wife sitting in her chair inside the cabin. the walls looked strange at first until i figured out what they were, and the article explained them thus: logs of all different diameters are cut to one-foot lengths, and then made into walls with mud or whatever by basically using them like bricks, with one end on the inside of the cabin, and one on the outside, so that when you look at them, you see a wall of disks. very nice. has anyone ever seen this before? do you think it is a good design? it said it was warm in winter/cool in summer, but not much else. at least you have no massive logs to lift.
