Hacksaw Blade Knife Wrap

I used to use duct tape for the handles on the little hacksaw blade knives that I play around with. Rick's post about lengthening the apparent handle by using cordage made a lot of sense, so I thought I'd give it a try. Granted, these little kit knives are not going to handle any big tasks, but maybe making some triggers, skinning some small game, etc.?

I used about 18" of paracord.

Run it through the hole in the blade and leave enough so that it is a little wider than the width of your hand.

Take the longer end and bring it down to where you will start wrapping.

Tie a half hitch. Make it snug. The teeth on the blade will help in holding it secure.

Wrap the blade keeping it snug. Once again, the teeth will help hold it secure.

Put two half hitches on it.

Tie an overhand knot in the remaining cord. Make the loop big enough to slide your ring and pinkie finger into it (you can also use it as Rick explained by just gripping the handle and cordage). This gives the feel of a longer handle and gives you a little more control of it.
