Nell - thanks for the thought. It does give me an idea for doing a vid on various fire starting methods and tinders that might be useful to somebody that has not tried a specific method.

I've watched the video 3X now and can't wait to try and see if I can replicate some of the skills.
The hardest thing is gonna be letting Mr. B have the knife. Since he doesn't know it yet, I guess there's still time to change my mind and get him a tie.

Of course I just HAD to watch the video before I commented. Benesse if you ever want some flint to add to your Fire kit, just give me a holler.... I pick it up in my pasture all the time.(It's not as easy as the fire steel, but will last longer. Of course you will HAVE to have char cloth).
