The girl in the "Mounting your knife" demo vid can sharpen my knife anytime she wants (whether it works or not) :tongue_smilie:

There are several on the market along those lines. Schrade makes the Advant-Edge. The Edge Pro Apex and the EZE Sharp are similar and about as expensive as that one. I think there are less expensive ways to sharpen a blade but if that's what you like then go for it. With a life time warranty and a satisfaction guarantee it looks pretty iron clad.

I've seen a few write-ups from people that have them. They seem to love em.

That is just a take off on the old Lansky sharpener!

They work OK, espically if you have a difficult time sharpening freehand.

My son had a Lansky when he was a kid and it did a pretty good job.

it's just a sharpening jig. there's nothing new about the idea, and it's great to have positive control of the honing angle.

+1 on canid's comments. I have a similar sharpening system for my kitchen knives. I also use it to correct a poorly sharpened blade. The photos show a blade sharpened by progressively finer stones. Mine has four stones. I like mine.

i should add that all of my blade bevels/edges are very obviously ground and sharpened free-hand. they cut well, so i can live with it, but i should definitely put some jigs together for any blades i ever sell.

Same thing at 20% of the price. This is the one my son used for years. The now offer diamond hones instead of the carbodium.
