I had a place holder site before but this weekend I went all out. There is a few bugs I need to kill but I made it with Yahoo site builder. I don't expect Microsoft to offer me a job or anything but I am pleased with the outcome. I also had a logo made for me. Whatcha think? The link is in my sig. I think I will add some how to links. Crash could I add you micarta how to link on you tube?

Clean, professional, well done.
Like your logo and your signature on the knifes.
The knives are so beautiful, I'd love to see them even larger once I click on them.

If you click on the pics of knives in the gallery they should take you to a larger image.

I'd go even larger than that, Pancho. The bigger the photo, the easier it is for the work to speak for itself.

Owl girl has a point on too much gray so I changed the color scheme a bit. Good point Benesse.

oh man. i still like the look of it, but i felt the grey was a lot better. the white is [just] a tad bit more readable, but the white sets a different atmosphere.

in the gallery, i would recomend using some kind of visual cue, to differentiate between images which can be enlarged, and those which can not.

this could be as easy as a little, high contrast 'plus-sign' in the lower corner of the thumbnail image for those which are expandible, or a different border style. most people will notice by the mouse cursor, but you want something to draw their mouse there in the first place.

Looks good Frank! I like the new logo and the site is user friendly.

Agree with Canid 100%.
Grey (brushed steel or a metal surface?) works better to give substance and showcase the knives more.
And for what it's worth, it felt more masculine.
Distinguishing between blowable and static images would be a good thing. Anything to make it easy and user-friendly.

That's a cool site. Have you noticed a change in the amount of orders?

No, I really don't want this to turn into a business. I have a full time Project Management job and then the Daddy duties as well. I make them part time, and would just like to keep an interest in them up. I have plenty of orders and don't want to get over whelmed and then it will feel more like work and not be fun anymore. I do however want to learn as much and make the best knife I can, and get folks to trust the knives they buy from me. I have only been live for two days with the new site, I have already recieved about 10 spam emails though.

Like your site. I like the lay-out and the navigation. Your logo is also very nice. I have some other thoughts, but would like to know if you offer these beautiful knife for sale and try to attract customers, or if you are showing the knifes for other people to see and/or for educational purposes only.

The knives shown are knives that already have new homes. I just want to have a place for folks interested to see my work then they can contact me and talk to me about what they want. It is not a store where you can order something. If I do have one ready and for sale I will add a link to the picture and info.

OK. I think you did a great job. As a suggestion, maybe you can make it a little bit more clear that if somebody is interested in a custom made knife, they can contact you about that. Also, maybe some close-up detail pictures might be good.
