Vulspire: all parts of a toxic mushroom are toxic. there is no difference in concentration of mushroom toxins between the stipe [stem] and pileus [cap].

Hey guyys i got this plant i cant tell if it is poison hemlock or not it kinda looks like it but idk guys should i just eat the roots to be safe?

there has long been a popular misconception that the Psilocybian compounds in hallucinogenic mushrooms are distributed primarily, or even exclusively in the caps.
if a person had been taken in by this misconception, it might seem natural to speculate whether the dangerous toxins in other mushrooms might be less concentrated in the stipe, so i can at least take a guess in the dark as to where this guy is coming from.
unfortunately, there is no truth to the notion, in either cases.
