Cowboy, take 2 cups of shelled nuts, and put them in a blender or food processer. Toss in salt to taste, and add either:

1. a 1/2 teaspoon of veggie oil and cayenne pepper to taste, or

2. tabasco sauce to taste

Makes a great peanut butter. :)

I've always just liked water and salt. Adding Old Bay Seasoning isn't bad either.

Hmmm...not a fan of Old bay.. but might try some of McCormick's Cajun Spice or Chesapeake Bay.

My wife's father always has boiled peanuts when we visit in the summer. However, he has prepared them ahead of time, and they defrost them in the microwave. Never cared for them. However, a few weeks ago, my neighbor brought us some fresh out of the water boiled peanuts, and those were something I really enjoyed. I think he just used water and salt.

Pretty much the same for me. I have been known to add garlic a time or two, but water and salt is the norm.
