My current BOB plan calls for pain relievers (over-the-counter) that are in blister packs. I have checked all the local pharmacies, Target, Wal-Mart, etc and cannot seem to find them.

Anyone know of any acetaminophen, ibuprofen, etc. that come packaged in blister packs? I’m looking for FLAT packaging.

Thanks for the replies,

I get a lot of travel sized meds because my husband needs to travel a lot. I usually pick up my stuff in the pharmacy section of walmart. They usually have all that stuff in one section. ;)

I'm trying to get them in a form factor that will fit in something like this:

I've been gone for a while, but thought I would start contributing again.

What I have done before is use my food vacuum sealer to create small packages for 2-4 pills and then seal them. You now have weather a small weather tight indiviually packaged dose of meds.

I'm starting to think that these little devices will come in pretty handy...

Been there...everything is in the cylindrical plastic bottles. A possibility if my original idea doesn't work out.

It's aggravating...I can find EVERY OTHER type of OTC med I want, just not pain killers.

Hmmm...mine carries the individual dose packs of Tylenol and all kinds of others...
Have you tried checking if you can get them on line? I keep thinking I came across a site that sold them in bulk. I'll see what I can find. ;)

Often you can find the blister packs of OTC meds near the check-out counter.

DAMN...wrote a whole long-*** post and then didn't save it. Oh well, here I go again.

The individual pack will probably be my next-to-last resort, just before vaccuum sealing a bunch.

Here's why I'm being so anal-retentive about this.

You've seen the pic of the case I want to use. Blister packaging

http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee224/NoSweat88/blisterpack.jpg

accomplished several things in my grand scheme of things. It allows multiple medications to be placed on very similar form factors. As you take meds off, the form factor, which is HIGHLY stackable, avoids loose pills, dropping them, noise inherent in the plastic vials, etc. The card, along with other blister packed meds fits nicely in the case I'll be using.

I have been able to find Sudafed, NyQuil, Imodium, a lot of Kids' meds and several others that I'll be packing in this form factor. Just not OTC pain meds.

Scroll down. Your pain meds are a little over half way down.

Yeah, they just don't sell certain meds in blister packs in America. Things like Tylenol and Ibuprofen pain relievers can be purchased in smaller packages, but only in individual dose packs.

I've never seen THOSE meds in blister packs. Sorry I didn't realize exactly what you were looking for before.

Check out bestglide.com, they have a meds, and a bandage restock pack that sell for around $20. I have bought both of these in the past and liked them. The customer service is very good too.

these are blister packed and there are four pharmacies within a couple of miles that carry them. Gonna buy a box and give it a shot next time I get a headache. Which is usually every other day :blushing:

I like flat packs of things like meds. I make my own. If you have a FoodSaver or other vacumn packing machine it's easy to seal custom size bags, then just lay the pills in them flat and vacumn. nice and dry with no oxygen.

Thanks to all who posted replies to my inquiry.

I tried the Sedalmex the other day and it seemed to work ok.
So, for now, this will be my choice.

I ran across a site called all-meds-here.com

http://all-meds-here.com/genericmedicines/s/Acetaminophen.html
They are located in the British Virgin Islands and offer OTC pain meds in blister packs. The meds are manufactured in India. They have a lot of prescription meds here, but I only want to stick with what's OTC in the USA

Any have any experiece with these types of companies? I'm not sure if I would want to buy stuff this way, even if it's acetominaphen or ibuprofen.

I asked a pharmacist the other day about this and the reply was "they want to save money. Blister packaging is much more expensive". Made sense to me. But I know I've seen them before....just not NOW since NOW is when I WANT them

Beware Buying ANYTHING over the Net from another country,, especially drugs, You have no recourse , If you get anything at all for your money there is no guarantee its what you think it is, (if you even get anything sent) IMO

NoSweat..... Many of the business supply companies like office depot, staples and such have the "office packs" of stuff like pain relievers, cold meds, and the like. They are single dose sealed packets, usually come a hundred or so to a box. They also sell stuff like the sugar/sweetner packets, individual cream ( non dairy) coffee and tea packets. Some even sell the powdered drink mixes as well. If you have one of them nearby it's worth checking out. They also usually carry the medical supplies like band aids and such.
