I just HAD to show this knife I won in a Raffle on a knife Forum I am a member of!! This is a "Gentleman's Folder" liner lock knife, Differentially Heat Treated, Made by Chuck Gedraitis. It is/was a charity Raffle with the funds going to help those in the Knife Making community,in time of need. I never seem to win anything and was so shocked that I had won, that I had to read the winner announcement twice!! LOL Anyway here she is, Can't wait 'til she is in my hands!!

BTW I contacted the Maker and asked about it's specs. He replied and here are the specs on it:

Hello,
The blade steel is 1095 and was differentially heat treated with clay to produce the hamon. The liners, backbar and bolsters are titanium. I textured and heat colored all the titanium parts. The scales are textured G-10. If you would like me to add a pocket clip I will do so just for the cost of return shipping.
Thanks for participating in the raffle.
Regards,
Chuck

BTW I contacted the Maker and asked about it's specs. He replied and here are the specs on it:

Poco, Roughly what did they indicate the "Value" of the knife to be, just for my education........??????

Sourdough, I read your question and sent a query off to the maker. I know there were 100 spots at $2.50 each spot. each "spot/slot buyer" was allowed a maximum of 10 spots each. A similar knife (same style, different materials and maker) went for $245 at auction. All the Raffles have 100 spots, and so far have been $2.50/spot. The method determining the winner is a state lottery drawing and the last 2 numbers in the "Pick 3" are what determines who wins. Numbers go from 00-99. So a rough Guesstimate of the "Value" would be $245 - $250, just from what the knives have brought in auction and Raffles. As soon as the Maker gives me an Estimate, I will let you know. Oh the Makers Donated their time and effort for these. Great Lakes Water Jet company supplied the basic components, in a "Kit" but most of the experienced makers are substituting some parts with higher quality ones. Like the Titanium in mine. The handle scales were all supplied by the Makers themselves. I could be wrong though, the Titanium could have been supplied as well. But basically they were just given the raw material in Parts.

Much lower price than I would have guessed.

Well SD, as I said this is for a benefit (Similar to the DOC here) and everything was donated to the cause. Materials, time, and craftsmanship, even S&H!! All were Donated!! The Maker still has not returned any info on estimated value, But personally I would believe it will be higher myself. Granted I'm not a knife appraiser or anything, but I think it is still pretty "cheap" all things considered. One of the prettiest pieces, hasn't even come up yet!! It is AWESOME!!

Sourdough, I just did some checking on some of the makers knives he makes and sells. I think I made out like a FAT DOG!! I think the price I quoted was really a bargain for the kinds of knives he makes!!!Here is a link to his site:
http://www.gedraitisknives.com/

P.S. I REALLY like that folding scimitar flipper!!

His folders of like make run from $400 and up, some are almost $1000!!

Ok the Maker has gotten back to me Sourdough, this one is valued at $450. is what it would cost for me to have it replaced, if it were lost or stolen.
I will have it insured!! Adding it on to our policy.

I think I'm going to go buy some Lottery tickets. Dottie won a saddle in a raffle she had entered!! Saddle about the same value as the knife I won. Maybe it is our "Lucky Week"?

OK I got it today!! It is even nicer than I had imagined!! It is really a lightweight knife. Probably has a Lot to do with the fact that it has Titanium, and G-10. Man this is the best Knife I have ever had in my hands!!Pictures just don't do it justice!!
