I am almost done with this one. I also bought a scotchbrite belt and am practicing on a satin machine finish. I has some requests for satin finishes for working knives that were going to be getting heavy use. It seams some guys don't like to mess up a nice hand finish and prefer a machin satin finish cause the scratches don't show up as much. Anyways here it is.

Oh yea and I will just post any other knives I make on this thread so I wont' clutter up the forum with a bunch of knife posts.

Here are the specs

5/32 ATS34

Burgundy Micarta scales

What's this talk of cluttering up the forum with too many knife threads? Silly boy! Not possible.

Really excellent work Frank!! Also a good idea about not cluttering up with numerous threads. I will do so when I make my next one. I just trashed knife #3, I thought I would add swedges/swages which I'm not competent at!

This guy is 1/16" ats34 bocote scales and this one is for me and my wife. I love to cook fajitas and she loves to make pico de gallo. We were made for each other. It worked great for both. Thin blade = Slice. I didn't give it a fine finish, just a satin one since it was for personal use.

Hokey smokes!! I missed this thread. Wow, Frank. That's some nice work. That first one has my heart. There is just something about that silver satin contrasted with the dark scales that really brings that rascal alive to me. Elegantly understated. That is one nice piece of art! Thank you for posting those.

Here is one that I got done with. I used some burlap micarta I had, its not the one that rebel gave me. I think his will look nicer cause it is not woven as tight as this one.

Here is one that could see alot of use in a kitchen or fishing trip. it is 1/16" ats34 and around 11" long. The handles are margarita green g11. I have a bunch of this stuff and was scared to put it on a knife handle. I have seen some veteran makers use it and the design and material looked great. I am not sure I really like it much though. I have seen guys make spoons, chop sticks, spatulas and slingshots out of this stuff.

That burlap micarta knife is really great. You do a very nice job of matching blade profile to handle material. One accents the other very well. I'm getting tired of typing what a really great job you do. From now on I'll just type ditto and you'll know what I mean.

Got this guy done today. I just need to make a sheath for it when it sells. I am scared of it stabbing through the leather in a pouch sheath so I may make a mexican loop sheath. I think thats what its called. Anyways here are the specs.

1/16" ATS34
Cocobolo
12.5" OAL
7" blade

Thanks crash the sheaths are tanned. I rubbed some neatsfoot oil and set them in the hot south Texas sun for about 12 hrs and they tanned a bit the I added leather balm sheen and presto this is the color I ended up with. I really like this color.
