Saw one in action on Dirtiest Jobs a while back, on dead cows.
Looks to be effective, if you are doing a bunch of them.

Looks pretty spiffy, but I don't think I want to pack a compressor along in my canoe, what would I plug the compressor into anyway? A currant bush?

I have heard of it, never seen it done, don't know any fur trappers that do it. Do a search on "trapperman.com" and see what you come up with. I've skinned a many a critters in my day and don't see the benefit.
