Winnie - wraps are pretty popular - that's what I make for my lunch when I'm working. Tortilla, meat, cheese, condiments - roll it up and you have a sandwich wrap.

I don't think I've ever had them go bad in the fridge. They get hard but the don't go bad. While you're house sitting, if they get hard on you just take two towel papers wet them and wring them out. Place one on the bottom then the tortillas then the other paper towel on top. Zap in a microwave for 1 minute and they are soft again. You could probably do the same thing in a hot oven. You are just steaming them.

We make our own as needed. We store nothing that can go stale, or has a expiration date less than 5 years.

yeah, tortilla have staying power, in more ways than one. they're calorie danse [since they are low moisture, and since such great food is usually put on them] and they keep forever.

i have half a package [100ct.] of corn tortilla in the refrigerator that is 5/12 of the way to it's anniversary [remember this (http://www.wilderness-survival.net/forums/showthread.php?t=8942&highlight=tortilla)?], and is showing no signs spoiling soon.

Winnie, if you steam them as I described above they are quite soft.

I steam them by splashing water on one side and nuking them for about 15 to 20 seconds. How do you steam Rick.

that works like a charm.

You can also just keep a damp paper towel in the bag with them if you notice they are starting to dry out.

Thanks Rick, even when soft, the flour Tortillas still taste like cardboard! I like the corn Tortillas:)
