Thanks Rick, useful stuff.

Bees wax is also useful for black Powder bullet lube:
1/3 beeswax
2/3 lanolin BY WEIGHT
P.S. haven't been able to find pure lanolin, lately.

Use bees wax as a preservative for blacksmithing/iron work, rub on while still hot, turns black.

Missed out on 8 pounds of pure bees wax, was in the paper for $15 bucks, went fast.

That's pretty cool. I will definitely give some of those a try. Ole Mr. Burt better look out.

I've made and used the lip balm and furniture polish, I add a drop or two of lavender oil to the polish and then it frargances the room too! You can also use lemon zest to perfume the polish.

a little off topic, but might be a good place for crash to include his leather finish recipe ;)

I'm still playing around with it to get the way I like it, but all I've done so far is mix bees wax and a little mink oil and then rub it in while warm. I've never made enough to dip the a sheath, so took the "conditioning a baseball glove" kind of approach.

Bees wax also makes a good flux when melting lead for pouring bullets.
May be make this a stick/, sorta of a collection of recipes?

Hunter:

My local Organic Food Co-op sells pure lanolin, liquid form.

PM me if you are interested. It is about a dollar an ounce.
(5 oz bottle is about $5.)
