An avatar is a computer user's representation of himself/herself or alter ego, in the form of a two-dimensional picture or graphic. It is an object representing the user and they are displayed under your username whenever you post.

For a picture to be used as an avatar on the forum, it must be 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller). You can find free avatars on the internet or use any picture you wish as long as it does not exceed the size restrictions.

Once you have identified the graphic you wish to use, click on User CP in the upper green bar. In the left hand menu, click on Edit Avatar. In the Edit Avatar panel choose Use Custom Avatar. You have two options to capture the avatar. You can either link to an avatar on another web site or upload it from your computer. Then click on Save Changes at the bottom of the panel.

The most common error encountered when trying to add an avatar is selecting an image that exceeds the sizes stated above. If you encounter an error, make certain the image you have selected is 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).
