The much-branched stems are terminated by dense clusters of pale violet or white flowers with purple spots. Leaves jagged, arrowhead-shaped; gray-green with soft whitish down. Minty odor mildly unattractive. 6-24 in. (15-60 cm.) Found on waste ground and roadsides. Flowers June-Sept. The dried leaves make a pleasantly soothing tea when prepared like oriental tea.
